How Marketers Elicit Instant Response from the audience
Do you wonder how some advertisements or blogs go viral within no time?
There is a simple and logical reason for this. The reason is that smart marketers use powerful words to evoke a response from the audience. We call this copywriting.
They use words that trigger emotional responses and have a serious punch that inadvertently makes the audience click on their ads, share their blog posts, and buy from their sales pages.
Now that you know the secret, do you know how to use these words for marketing effectively? They can be used in marketing email subject lines, headlines of blogs, landing page content, product names, domain names, button copy (call to action), and even product/service testimonial!
Now Let me explain with examples of how Business Owners, Digital Marketers, and Affiliate Marketers incorporate these powerful words in their marketing strategy very easily.
Power words in Marketing Emails
If your email headlines are not catchy enough, you are not justifying with your email list. Most of your subscribers won’t even open your emails. Isn’t that a waste of significant email marketing effort?
Consider the below examples.
Pat Flynn’s email subject line is exciting and attractive. As compared to a simple and boring subject line “Learn how to sell”, they have used a power-word full subject line. Here – ‘Ultimate’, ‘sleazy’, and ‘smart’ are power words that make the subject line very attractive and persuasive.
Let me give you another example. Skillshare uses power words like ‘exclusive’ and ‘gift’ in their email subject line to make it catchy and attractive. The words like ‘exclusive’ and ‘gift’ are sure to make readers feel intrigued and will definitely end up opening the email.
Power Words in Product Names
What if your product name itself had the power words within it? Wouldn’t that make a considerable difference to your brand image and sale? Let’s have a look.
Consider both the names mentioned below:
Maybelline Eyestudio Master Precise All Day Liquid Eyeliner Ink Pen
Maybelline Eyestudio All Day Liquid Eyeliner Ink Pen
Both the above names are of the exact same product, an eyeliner from Maybelline. But which one would you prefer to buy? The first one, right?
The usage of power words like ‘master’ and ‘precise’ makes the product name sound more descriptive as well as attractive. It signifies that the eyeliner is ‘master precise’ within the product name itself, which means it can be applied to the eye with extreme precision. Product names loaded with power words definitely catch the eye of the audience and make considerable sales as well.
Power Words in the Landing Pages
Landing Pages play a crucial role in getting your audience converted. Landing pages have to be extremely attractive and full of power words to get an instant reaction from the audience. The use of strategically placed persuasive words can get customers converted within no time.
For instance, let’s have a look at a power word rich landing page. Nothing can be a better example of an excellent Landing Page Heading than Russel Brunson’s ‘Expert Secrets’ Landing page on his website?
Read the content on his page carefully. He has very smartly used power words with a crisp and attractive marketing line. ‘Free’, ‘New’, ‘Unknown, and ‘Secrets’ are all power words. The headings in the above example has the power words written in bold. It is written in a way that it cannot miss your eye, and you will definitely click to find out more!
Power Words in the Button Text

Please don’t underestimate the impact of these words in your Button Copy or Call to Action (CTA). They might have a significant impact even when used in small places like button text.
Check the below example. Here the word ‘unlimited’ grabs the audience’s attention, and “now” is to invoke them to take action. Now, if you have clicked a button like this before, you know exactly what made you do this. It is a power word, which has been utilized on the text of a navigation button.
Similarly, in the below example, the word ‘free’ acts as a power word. Imagine if the text on this button read, “Try our plan”, would you be keen to click on it? Most users would skip it. But now, with the ‘free’ word, it becomes irresistible, and the audience is sure to check out the plan by clicking on the button.

Similarly, Many big salons are using the word ‘elite’ in some way or the other, as you can see in all the examples below.
Again ‘profit’ and ‘hack’ both are power words. They don’t just create an impact on the audience, but also give a strong vibe to the audience about the brand.

You might think how can power words insanely boost your conversion in testimonials! But it is true; testimonials can change a prospective customer’s mind altogether. If the testimonials you display on your website or blog are impactful enough, you can get customers knocking for your services within no time.
If you read a testimonial that says, “I think the product is good, and I recommend everyone to buy the same.” Will you want to buy the product? My answer is No. Now let’s take another example.
Consider the testimonial below by Ryan Biddulph. At first glance, it is a very short testimonial but does it pack a punch? Yes! With just two lines, the testimonial explains Akshay’s skills and uses power words to create impact. ‘Master’ and ‘immense’ are power words that are used very creatively in the below testimonial.
Similarly, the example below has a testimonial of just 3 short lines. But it packs powerful words within itself, which can be intriguing and attractive at the same time. ‘Easiest,’ ‘effective,’ ‘boost’ are all power words.
